Former slave laborers are repatriated. Former slaves laborers taken by the Nazi from France, Beldium, Poland, Russia and Holland line up in Braunschweig, Germany, May 12, 1945, to receive food for their trips back to their native countries. About 1,200 are being repatriated daily by Allied officials and liaison workers from Braunschweig. Rations for two days are given to each refugee, the food being requisitioned from nearby German supplies. Prisoners in the Braunschweig area were freed by troops of the 93rd Division, Ninth U.S. Army.
