Ministerstvo vnutrennykh del Rumynii (g. Bukharest)

Nazi-Looted Jewish Archives in Moscow. A guide to Jewish Historical and Cultural Collections in the Russian State Military Archive, ed. by D. E. Fishman, M. Kupovetsky, V. Kuzelenkov, Scranton - London 2010. The collection is described in one inventory. Materials are catalogued chronologically. The file was transferred to the archive from the archival administration of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The collection contains applications received by the Bucharest prefecture from cultural, youth, religious, and other societies for licenses to engage in activities stipulated in the societies' charters. There are charter and other documents on Jewish religious, cultural, philanthropic, and other organizations active on Romanian territory: the Intaitarea society to help poor students with clothes and books; the Asistenta society; the Inflorea cultural society; the Socialbilitatea cultural society; the Botezul Copiilor Soraci society (the "Society to Aid in the Circumcision of Sons of the Law of Moses from Poor Families ‘); the Libertatea; and the Avoidas Isroel society. According to the constitution of the Kingdom of Romania, adopted in 1866 and revised in 1884, executive power was held by the Cabinet of Ministers, which included the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Ministry of Internal Affairs was vested with the function, among others, of registering charters and issuing permits for the conduct of activities of various public organizations in Romania.
