Německé státní ministerstvo pro Čechy a Moravu, Praha
The establishment of the German State Ministry for Bohemia and Moravia as the highest authority of the German occupation administration in the Protectorate was brought about by Adolf Hitler's decree of August 20, 1943, which appointed Karl Hermann Frank, State Secretary to the Reich Protector, as German State Minister for Bohemia and Moravia. The ministry took over not only the powers but also the organizational structure of the Reich Protector's office. The Reich Protector's office continued to perform only a representative function. Both institutions functioned in this way until May 1945. Together with the fonds of the Office of the Reich Protector in Bohemia and Moravia and the State Secretary to the Reich Protector in Bohemia and Moravia, it represents a key source for research into the history of the Protectorate, especially for the period since K. H. Frank was appointed German Minister of State. The fonds contains a large number of archival materials relating to individuals, but of course it also includes documents concerning the Jewish Holocaust. These include, for example, reference numbers 110-4/228: visit of the International Red Cross delegation to Terezín (1945), 110-4/390 to 394 and others: the Aryanization of several Jewish businesses in the Protectorate, 110-8/1: the establishment and activities of Einsatzstab II (1943), 110-10/63: seizure of art objects from Czech and Moravian castles and from Jewish property, including the activities of Einsatzstab I (1943-1945), 110-11/51 to 55: allocation of Jewish apartments (1943-1944).
