Germans resume feast of Corpus Christi.
Germans resume feast of Corpus Christi. A picturesque procession of German people celebrating the Feast of Corpus Christi, formerly banne dby the Nazis, winds through the bombed straats of Munich, June 6, 1945. The processiom was headed by Cardinal Faulhaber, anti-Nazi bishop who repeatedly denounced the Nazi regime from his pulpit, and when the Gestapo arrived to arrest him at the Cathedral, was calmly waiting in his full Cardinal robes and defied them to take him by force from his church. The Feast was marked with the pomp and pegeantry of former years and the onlokkers mounted the piles of bomb-debris to witness the procession.
