Nazi Bavarian Gauleiter exhumed for inverstigation. This is the Reserve Lazarett Military Hospital in Berchtesgaden, Germany, where Bavarian Gauleiter Paul Gieseler was treated and died May 4, 1945, under mysterious circumstances. His body was echumed June 6, 1945, for an investigation and positive identefication by Sevneth U.S. Army military authorities. He was admitted to the hospital May 3, suffering from poison which allegedly was self-administered. He recoverd and was removed the same afternoon by his Nazi adjudant but was returned the next day with head wounds which caused his death.
