Nazi Bavarian Gauleiter exhumed for inverstigation. Captain Guenther Albrecht (left), German military doctor; German Nurse Marga Hirsch, U.S. Lieutenant Colonel Wilson Colberg and a German civilion, Dr. Friedrich Gottschalk, examine the uniform of Nazi Bavarian Gaulaiter Paul Gieseler, whose body has been exhumed in berchtesgaden for an investigation by seventh U.S. Army authorities. Gieseler was exhumed June 6, 1945, after having been buried May 6 in an unmarked grave. He died May 4 from head wounds shorly after he had allegedly tried to kill himself with poison. The investigation was ordered fot the purpose of positive identification and to determine if he was murdered or commited suicide.
