This is a convoy of disarmed German soldiers crossing the Zuyder Zee from Holland to Germany for demobilization. Landing boats full of prisoners of war are shown crossing from Den Helder to Harlingen. In the background is the causeway over which convoys of horse-drawn vehicles and mile-long columns of prisoners made their way to demobilization stations.
