German paper under U.S. direction appears in Leipzig. Residents of Leipzig, former Nazi war industries center and home of the annual prewar Leipzig Fair, road a free issue of the new German language newspaper, Hessische Post, published under directions of the 12th U.S. Army Group. Leipzig, 80 miles southwest of Berlin, was captures April 29, 1945, by troops of the first U.S. Army.
