Bei dem Tagesangriff US-amerikanischer Bomberverbände auf Berlin, wurde dieser Liberator-Bomber abgeschossen und fiel auf holländischem Gebiet in ein Waldstück. Nur ein Teil der Besatzung konnte sich durch Fallschirmabsprung retten, der Rest wurde unter den Trümmern begraben.'
