Ruth Haas Sadovnik (1927-2007) was born in 1927 in Berlin, Germany to Gustav and Martha Haas. She had an older sister, Jeannette Haas. On July 3, 1939, Ruth was sent on a Kindertransport to England; she was eleven and a half years old. The fonds contains only written documents relating to the period of the holocaust, primarily this concerns documents on Jewish registers within the framework of the agenda of the “Standesamts” (call number V) from 1939 and documents on the Aryanisation of Jewish property in 1939 (call number IX). Relevant information shall evidently also be contained in other documents of the fonds.

Some files of the fonds contain documents concerning how the museum collections were compiled (documents and register lists of the artifacts and personal belongings of people who were imprisoned in the Ninth Fort and who donated these items to the museum; documents and register lists of the items that were purchased from the locals.

Various kinds of documents, including reports on incidents in the district, documents about arrested people, documents about the Department’s activities, documents concerning persecution of residents suspected of being communists, partisans, or disloyal to the collaboration authorities.

The collection was created by the Studijni ustav Ministerstva vnitra which was a special body of the Czechoslovak Ministry of Interior, created in 1968, responsible for the preparation of analytical materials and statements.
