Mr. Sumner Welles arrives in Italy. Mr. Sumner Welles (second from left), U.S. Under-secretary of State, described by some as a 'peace envoy', on his arrival in Naples aboard the Italian liner 'Rex'. He continued his journey to Rome and will also visit London, Paris and Berlin. Next to Mr. Welles, is Mr. Myron C. Taylor, President Roosevelt's personal Ambassador to the Pope.
