U.S. NAVY DIVE BOMBER OVER THE PACIFIC A rugged U.S. Navy dauntless dive bomber roars past a Pacific island on a mission against the Japanese. Carrying 1,000 pounds of bombs, the heavily armed dive bomber has a range of approximately 1,000 miles and a top speed of more than 250 miles per hour. Dauntless planes have played an important part in attacks on enemy shipping in the Pacific.
