Correspondence relating to the plight of Jews.

Comprised of correspondence, photographs, and identity documents, such as work permits and registration certificates for Leopold Endzweig, annotated by his son, the donor, Manfred Endzweig. Documents capture Leopold Endzweig's experiences once liberated from Buchenwald.

Collection consists of documents relating to Alois Zamecnik including his succesful efforts to prove that he had not been a member of the Nazi Party. Also includes certificates issued to his wife and mother for being "good German mothers."

Little is known about the family beyond that which is contained within the papers.

The Aron Grynwald papers consists of a certificate confirming that Aron Grynwald was a prisoner at Mauthausen; photographs of the ghetto in Będzin, Poland, photographs of Aron and Gucia Grynwald at a Holocaust memorial in Poland in 1958; a booklet from the Zydowski Instytut Historyczny W Polsce; and newspaper clippings about the Holocaust.

Papers of Diana Silberstein, ne Abiun (1904-90), a native of Sarajevo, who came to Britain as a refugee.

Correspondence, printed matter, and sound recordings of interviews, relating to economics, world politics, and efforts to aid German Jewish refugees to the United States during the 1930s and World War II. Sound use copies of sound recordings available.

Original letters/diaries from Braslav (1941?), as well as later transcript of a Russian document (1944, transcript in 1990s), and document in Yiddish, unidentified, with background info on Braslav from Museum of Jewish Diaspora (1980s). Context needs to be determined.

Correspondence, original from National Cathedral in Washington, DC, recording efforts of Dean Powell of the Cathedral to contact State Department on behalf of Otto Salzer, an Austrian Jew who wrote to him in 1939 asking for an affidavit to immigrate.

The collection consists of seven photographs taken by Chester Aaron while serving in the United States Army depicting the liberation of Dachau concentration camp and two programs for musical performances for the American troops.
