U.S. Navy seabees home on furlough. Veteran seabees, members of the U.S. West Coast for a furlough after 23 months of service in the south Pacific. Seabees, the combat engineers of the Navy, build, often under fire, installations, piers, dock, bridges, roads hangar and airstrips for the use of Allied forces fighting the enemy in the Pacific and Atlantic theaters.
