French troops enter Rome. The famous Pacifique Battalion, part of the First French Army under General Pierre Alphonse Juin, marches through the streets of liberated Rome to forward fighting positions beyond the Italian capital. The Pacifique Battalion is made up of volunteers from French colonies in the Pacific.

French civillians welcom U.S. troops. French civillians give American armored units an enthusiastic welcome as they turn off the road to bivouac. These troops are part of the armored forces who made the lightning advance to the Loire which out off the Whole of Brittany with its three great ports and U-boat bases of Brest, Lorient and St. Nazaire.
