This recording contains the exchange between 11 child survivors of the Holocaust during a zoom meeting held on 17 January 2021. All participants and their siblings were housed in Jewish and/or non-Jewish orphanages in Belgium during the war. Elias Rozycki (Eli) was born on 28 February 1926 in Krakow, Poland, originally of Krakow, Poland. Eli was a survivor of the Krakow, Plaszów, Jerozolimska, Pionki, Auschwitz-Birkenau, and Flossenbürg concentration camps. After liberation he lived in Passau, Germany until his immigration to the United States in 1949.

The work entitled, "The beginning of the end," contains three memoirs written by Lilly Gassner and Chaviva Guttmann: "The beginning of the end"; "The great forgivness: life's martyr"; and "The twins." The brief memoirs appear to be written by twin sisters who survived Auschwitz-Birkenau and relate their experiences in Birkenau with Dr. Josef Mengele.

Magda Hellinger Blau was born on 19 August 1916 in Michalovce, Czechoslovakia (Michalovce, Slovakia). After the German invasion she was deported to Auschwitz II-Birkenau. She was sent on a death march in January 1945 and was liberated by the Soviet Red Army. After the war she lived in Prague before immigrated to Israel. In 1965 she immigrated to Australia.

Marcel Pierre Lob (1902-1990) was born on 12 May 1902 in Paris, France to Gaston and Lucie Levy Lob (1872-1944). He had two siblings: Mathieu (b. 1898) and Stephanie.
