NEW U.S. GLIDER TRANSPORT PLANE. A U.S. airman straightens the tow lines as a YCG 13, the newest glider of the U.S. Army Air Forces Troop Command, is readied for a flight. The motorless plane easily carries more than 24 infrantrymen with packs, rifles, mortars and small machine guns. The empty glider weights approximately 8,000 pounds.
