The first record of a Jewish community in Holešov dates from the first half of the 16th century. It was re-established after the Second World War. In the 1950s it became a synagogue congregation under the direction of the Jewish Religious Community of Kyjov, from 1960 under the direction of the Jewish Religious Community of Brno. The congregation disbanded in about 1980.
