Hans Israel Abraham was born in Bad Pyrmont, Lower Saxony, in 1916 where he lived and worked as a merchant. He was arrested during the November pogroms in 1938 and sent to Buchenwald concentration camp. After his release in December 1938 he emigrated as a refugee to England in 1939.
