The collection consists of a belt, documents, and photographs relating to the experiences of Stanley (Zelig) Appel and his family in prewar Stary Sacz, Poland, of Stanley’s experiences during the Holocaust while incarcerated in several camps, and ater the Holocaust in Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.

Stanley Sarnack was a member of the 102nd Infantry Division of the Ninth Army, and witnessed the aftermath of the Gardelegen atrocities.

Born Szaja Ofenhejm in Poland, Stanley Osinski assumed the identity of a Christian and avoided persecution by the Nazis. Osinski fought in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and survived the German occupation of Poland.

Describes Stanley Hochman’s (b. 1916) childhood in Demblin (Deblin), Poland; the death of his mother; his relocation and experiences in the Demblin ghetto and numerous concentration camps in Poland and Germany; his liberation; and his immigration to Canada.

The collection consists of a photographic postcard with an image of Adolf Hitler and a propaganda calendar sent by the Organization for Germanness in Foreign Countries to German nationals living in foreign countries. The collection also includes a letter accompanying the propaganda calendar.

Linda P. Arnold donated the oral history interview with Stanley Arnold (Ignacy Abramowicz) to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in May 2017. The recording was made by Stanley Arnold on March 22, 2012.

Contains a letter from a U.S. soldier, dated 24 April 1945, written to his wife, using letterhead of Nazi Party Gauleiter of Franken, describing sights and events in Nuremberg and surrounding area at that time.

The Samuel A. Smith photograph collection consists of ten photographs taken by Stanley E. Smith, M.D., a medical officer in the United States Army, following the liberation of the Ebensee concentration camp, June 1945. The photographs show Ebensee concentration camp inmates before and after the delousing process.

Stanley Kowalski is a native of Jazłowiec, Poland. He was imprisoned by the Soviets and taken to the East where he was kept in Soviet prisons and eventually taken to labor camps in the West. He was a member of the First Polish Armoured Division which fought on the Western front.
