The interviews were conducted starting in 2007 as part of several oral history projects conducted by different Roma NGOs Roma NGOs such as Asociația Centrul Rromilor „Amare Rromentza” and Centrul de Cercetari Culturale si Sociale "Romane Rodimata". These Roma NGOs were quite active a few years ago, but to this day they do not have an active website.

The collection includes 1756 oral history interviews. Of these, about 90 relate to the Holocaust (55 to the Holocaust in northwestern Transylvania and 33 to the fate of deported Roma in Transnistria). She was a Canadian photographer and executive producer of the Photo Service (later Still Photo Division) of the National Film Board of Canada. She commissioned photography projects that chronicled the life and culture of the peoples of Canada. She also founded the Canadian Museum of Photography in Toronto in 1985.
