Pink Heritage, the Amsterdam story : gaining official recognition for LGBT heritage sites in Amsterdam ; Rosa Erbe, die Amsterdamer Geschichte : Gewinning offizielle Anerkennung für LGBT Erbestätten in Amsterdam

This thesis presents a systematic exploration of the official protection of sites and locations in Amsterdam to which members of the local LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans) community attribute great significance. The goal of this research is to identify relevant sites, to analyse which of them could be seen as most significant, and to recommend a site which could be assigned official status by being listed in the monument records, thereby receiving also a way of 'protection' as an official city monument in Amsterdam.
