The manuscript is a fictionalized account of a family researching the history of a grandfather, who was born at Rivesaltes and later adopted. The manuscript highlights the work of the American Friends Service Committee in southern France, particularly the work of Irish Quaker Mary Elmes (referred to in the manuscript as Marion Oakes).
