Judith Hanlon papers
Papers consist of identification papers, correspondence, photographs, and a passenger list documenting the experiences of Hans, Elise and Herbert Stein and Moritz and Karoline Stein during the time period surrounding the Holocaust. The papers inlude correspondence written by Hans Stein while imprisioned in Dachau concentration camp after his arrest on Kristallnacht and information pertaining to the family's immigration from Vienna. Judith Hanlon's parents were Hans (b. 1906 to Moritz and Karoline Stein) and Elise Stein (1906-1999), and she had a brother named Herbert (b. 1935). Hans Stein was imprisioned in Dachau following Kristallnacht, and the family immigrated from Vienna to the United States via Southampton in April 1939.
