Letter relating to liberation experiences at Dachau and Landsberg
In 1933, Edward Newell was situated in the office of Herr Gennert, VP of the Gestapo Headquarters in Alexanderplatz, Berlin with the purpose of surveying European Police Systems. During World War II, Newell was assigned to the 163rd Signal Photographic Company of the Fifth Army in North Africa, and 7th Army in Italy, France, and Germany where he photographed combat and reported on American troop movements. "Dachau and Landsberg" is a 3 page letter (memoir) which relates to the Holocaust experiences of Edward Newell as a liberator in Europe.
