Partial translation from Raye Farr's notes (1972): Goebbels: "I am of the firm conviction that peace must be kept in Europe. If war were to come, it would be the greatest misfortune for the world. And however it might end for the victors, the conquered would endure the most terrible suffering. And so it will be the Reich government's policy to try to keep peace no matter what, and to relieve the people's suffering, their anxiety, their unemployment."
