The collection was formed out of microfilms of trophy German documents of the Second World War purchased from the American Association of Historians in 1959; microfilmed documents of the VChK-VUChK, Ekaterinoslav, Crimea, Odesa and Podolsk provincial Extraordinary commissions of 1917-1921 filmed in the Central Committee of KGB of the USSR in 1966-1967, and documentary films. Microfilmed documents of the Reich Ministry for the Eastern Occupied Territories and its head A. Rosenberg: • documents on the activities of the German occupation administration in Ukraine; • reports on the actions of partisan detachments and groups and underground in Ukraine; • documents on the activities of the German occupation administration in Belorussia and the Baltic States; • Reports on socio-political and economic situation in the occupied territories of the USSR; • Reports on the reaction of the population of the occupied territories to events of the German administration, at the front; • Documents on the deportations of laborers to the enterprises of Germany and satellite countries; • proposals for the creation of an administrative-territorial system in the occupied territories of the USSR; • Proposals of representatives of the Ukrainian, Belarusian and Russian public about the creation of national authorities and administration; • documents on contacts between representatives of Ukrainian national organizations and Metropolitan of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church A. Sheptytskyi with representatives of the German occupation administration; • surveys of socio-political and economic situation in Galicia; • documents on the creation of the "Ukrainian National Liberation Committee" under the leadership of P. Shandruk; • documents on the investigation of the assassination of the Reichskomissar of Belarus W. Kube. Documents of the armies rear of the Wehrmacht during the war against the USSR: • orders and decrees; • reports, newsletters, reports on the state of the rear, POWs, actions of partisan detachments and groups and the Soviet underground, the occupation regime, the mood of the population; • protocols of interrogations of POWs, partisans and underground; • reports on activities of police departments; • photocopies of guerrilla newspapers and leaflets; • documents of meetings on struggle against guerrilla movement; • documents on local military formations: a) eastern formations; b) Cossack parts; c) Turkestan, Muslim and other formations; • the characteristics of groups of the population of the occupied territories according to ethnic, political and social characteristics; • reports of intelligence and counterintelligence units of the headquarters of the rear army groups "South", "Center", "A", "B"; • documents on establishment of residences to act in the Soviet rear and in areas of active partisan activity; • documents on the activities of individual agents watching the Soviet and OUN underground in Ukraine in the occupied territories of the USSR; • documents on interaction between the German and Romanian occupation administrations in the South of Ukraine; • Documents on participation of Slovakia in the war against the USSR; • Informations on guerrilla movement in Poland from 1939-1944; • Documents on the situation in Hungary in 1944; • War diaries of headquarters of railway military units during the war against the USSR; • Reports on the activities of Soviet guerrillas on railway communications; • Reports of sabotage and destruction of railways in the occupied areas of the USSR; • Documents on the defeat of German units and on the Eastern Front.
