The fonds contains various materials related to the activities of Jozef Tiso as the president of the Slovak Republic (1939-1945). This includes various drafts of legislation, correspondence with different state bodies of the Slovak Republic as well as bodies of the ruling Hlinka Slovak People´s Party regime. The Office dealt with a very wide range of matters, from personnel matters of the President, through matters of appointment of various state employees, state policies, international relations, and military matters. The Office ceased to exist in Spring 1945 and its documents were partially damaged. As far as Holocaust-related documents are concerned, the archival fond contains various important materials, including drafts of anti-Jewish legislation, various applications for exemptions from the obligation to wear mandatory marks of Jews (Star of David), applications for so-called presidential exemptions - dispensation from the provisions of Regulation No. 198/1941 Sl. from. (so-called. The Jewish Codex) etc. In addition, the fond also includes applications to intervene in various cases, including cases of so-called Aryanization of property or complaints to the action of state and security bodies. United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archival documents can be reproduced with the permission of the archive and in accordance with archive´s Research Rules (Bádateľský poriadok) as well as other internal regulations of the Ministry of Interior. The Office of the President of Slovak Republic was established by Law no. 263/1939 Sl. z. and activities related to the duties of the President of the Slovak Republic (1939 -1945) fell within its competence. Jozef Tiso was the president of the Slovak Republic for the entire existence. The Office of the President of Slovak Republic was organizationally divided into the Civilian Service Department (Civilné oddelenie), the Military Department (Vojenské oddelenie) and the Accounting Department (Učtáreň). The Civil Service Department was divided into four sections: 1. Cabinet: personnel matters of the President, official visits and trips, Representation issues. Correspondence of President. Political matters. Press, 2. Section I. Personnel matters of the Office, Personnel matters of state employees, especially appointments. Honors and Orders, pensions and donations. School matters, 3.
