The collection contains personal documents, letters, certificates, diaries, poems, memoirs of internees and prisoners in Italian and German concentration camps and prisons; lists of internees, prisoners and deportees 1941-1945; certificates of German camps on the reception or release of internees 1941-1945 (Allach, Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Flossenbürg, Dachau, Mauthausen, Natzweiler, Ravensbrück, Sachsenhausen, Neuengamme, Strnišče pri Ptuju, Borl castle prison), the records of the Celje Judicial Prisons (reports, organizational matters, personnel matters); camp newsletters (Dachauski reporter, Naš glas), files (questionnaires) of KL Dachau camp inmates April 1945; material of Franc and Vanda Burger (personal documents, correspondence of F. Burger from the Dachau concentration camp, registration and assessment of war damage); material collected by dr. Rono Simoneti: newsletters from the Dachau concentration camp (Dachauski poročevalec); Dachau poems and drawings; photos from the anniversaries of the liberation of Dachau; map of German concentration camps at the end of World War II. The files SI AS 1769/1 to SI AS 1769/25 in the collection are particularly useful for Holocaust researchers, as they contain the A-Ž name register of prisoners in the Dachau concentration camp (1941-1945); file SI AS 1769/2 contains the data sheet of Evgen Bolaffio (b. 1888), a wine merchant from a well-known Jewish Sephardic family from Gorizia and representative of DELASEM (Delegazione per l'Assistenza degli Emigranti Ebrei), which helped Jews who fled to Italy from all over Europe and ensured their safe onward journey to countries that still accepted Jewish refugees. The files SI AS 1769/213 and SI AS 1769/214 also contain the alphabetical list of prisoners in the Dachau concentration camp, 1945.06.01. In addition, the collection contains the files SI AS 1769/157 to SI AS 1769/161 with the records of the transport of Slovenes who were resettled to Serbia (transport number I - transport number V; 6.7.1941–10.7.1941); the original is in the Upper Sava Valley Museum), which could be helpful for researchers, as in the summer of 1941 around 17,500 people were deported from the Slovenian territory to Serbia (and Croatia); although most of these deportees were Slovenes, they also included Jews and Sinti who had not managed to escape. The collection has a finding aid that is available to researchers via the Virtual Archive Reading Room (VARR) at https://vac.sjas.gov.si/vac. The VARR information solution provides users with a tool for searching, ordering and using physical and electronic archival material in Slovenian archives (in addition to the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia, six regional archives from Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje, Ptuj, Koper and Nova Gorica). After successful registration, login and confirmation of the user account by the administrator of the VARR system, the user can order materials and reproductions.
