Documentation of German Army units from the Osoby Archive in Moscow, 1939-1945
 
 The documentation includes files from the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (Supreme Command of the Armed Forces-OKW), the Oberkommando des Heeres (Supreme High Command of the German Army-OKH) and a few files from the Oberkommando der Marine (Supreme High Command of the Navy-OKM) (Microfilm JM/29059) and of the Reichswehrministerium (German Defense Ministry) during the Weimar period (Microfilm JM/29060). The documentation deals with financial matters, administration, intelligence, military justice, personnel, supplies and equipment, weapons, military legislation, orders and regulations, guidelines and technical procedures in various areas and guidelines for field security.
 
 The documentation includes, among other items: a file that deals with State budgetary matters and financial expenditures for 1941-1943, mainly on matters of support for the needy and stipend payments to widows and dependents of the various government offices, as well as final summaries of state expenses for 1941 and a summary of allocation paragraphs for support for 1942. A large number of the documents in file are correspondence between the OKW and departments within the OKW on these subjects (Microfilm JM/29057); a technical guide for contact matters; telephone directories of the offices of the Wehrmacht headquarters (the directory according to positions-the end of Microfilm JM/29057 and the beginning of Microfilm JM/29088; the directory by name - Microfilm JM/29063) and of the naval command (Microfilm JM/29059); the Caucasian people, including the Turkmens (Turkistan's) and Azeris (from Azerbaijan) in the Soviet Union - how to deal with volunteers in the German Army and propaganda among them; military situation reports; surveys regarding the Soviet Union and the Red Army, and the Japanese Army ; booklet with information regarding the air forces throughout the world, by country; military justice and military courts (including an Index referring to judicial sources by subject, and guidebooks for military courts and the appointment of military judges); names of participants in technical courses; British military reports regarding Germany; reports in the German press concerning the fighting in the Soviet Union; maritime matters and the building of ships (Microfilm JM/29059); associations of military personnel who served in specific military units; intelligence reports regarding various countries, mainly the Soviet Union; file concerning military contacts with Romania (Microfilms JM/29059, JM/29064); military appointments and promotions in rank; editions of the Heeres-Verordnungsblatt (Microfilms JM/290960-29062, JM/29064); translation from Russian of the Handbuch der Partisanen (Partisans' Handbook) (Microfilm JM/29062); geographical reports regarding areas of the Soviet Union and Britain (Microfilm JM/29062); 1944 file concerning the integration of the Abwehr (military intelligence) with the central espionage service under the command of Himmler (Microfilm JM/29063); translations of POWs' letters, and guidelines for handling POWs (Microfilm JM/29064); 1940 file concerning the preparations for the invasion of Britain (Operation Seeloewe [Sea Lion]) and the naval and aerial fighting in the area of the English Channel (Microfilm JM/29064).
