Internáltak névlistája

Lists were compiled between April and August 1944. In 1939, Hungary legalized internment camps, the most infamous of which was the one at Kistarcsa but of which there were dozens across the country. These camps were created to hold politically suspicious elements while they also specifically targetted Jews. During the Holocaust in Hungary, Hungarian Jews were arrested in large numbers and put into various internment camps that were originally controlled by the Hungarian police forces but where German forces would also come to share power. This collection contains lists of prisoners of the following internment camps in and around Budapest: Csepel, Herminamajor, Horthy-liget, Kistarcsa, Magdolna street, Mauthner-telep, Páva street, Rökk Szilárd street, Szabolcs street, Tsuk-telep, Újtelep. Moreover, there is a list of children interned in these camps as well as a list of those who were released from them due to the intervention of the Swedish Embassy in August 1944.
