Bequest Margarethe Weber

Margarethe, also known as Martha, Weber was born in Leverkusen-Wiesdorf on September 11, 1900. She graduated from the Volksschule on March 31, 1914. Starting in 1939, she worked as a commercial clerk for the I.G. Farben Industry at the plant in Leverkusen. The bequest Margarethe Weber covers personal documents of Margarethe and her family — especially of her younger sister Ilse Weber who also worked for the I.G. Farben. The holding covers numerous documents regarding the I.G. Farben since apart from Margarethe and Ilse Weber other family members also worked there. The bequest Margarethe Weber covers after description, demetallization, and filing 19 archival units with a total extent of 0.3 running meters. Since the record group did not have an inner structure upon the acquisition the processor Sophia Steinmetz completely reorganized the holding during indexing in July 2021. The archives group is now structured in four sections: "correspondence" ("Korrespondenzen"), "personal documents" ("Lebensdokumente"), "certificates and festschrift" ("Urkunden und Festschriften"), and "miscellanea" ("Sonstiges"). The section "personal documents" ("Lebensdokumente") mostly consists of records regarding the training of Margarethe Weber and her sister. The section "correspondence" ("Korrespondenzen") contains postcards and letters from third parties to Margarethe Weber, the family Weber, and the family Fehse. The section "certificates and festschrift" ("Urkunden und Festschriften") mostly covers service anniversary honors and notarial certificates. The section "miscellanea" ("Sonstiges") consists of objects of art and horoscopes.
