At the time of the trials of war criminals before the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg and the American military courts in 1945-1948, the press and radio performed an extremely important task in the field of communicating information about the ongoing trials. The press agencies sent special correspondents to Nuremberg to keep the flow of information regular and as informed as possible. JUDr. Rostislav Kocourek, who worked for the Czechoslovak Press Agency in Nuremberg during the war as a war correspondent on the Western Front. The fonds contains documents and reports on the conduct and outcome of the main war crimes trial before the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg, as well as twelve so-called follow-up trials before American military courts. These include Rostislav Kocourek's correspondence with Bohumil Ečer, the Czechoslovak delegate to the Commission for the Prosecution of War Criminals, stenographic records of the trials, witness interviews, information on individual defendants, the conclusions of the Commission, e.g. a list and characteristics of Nazi organizations, descriptions of crimes committed on Czechoslovak territory, handwritten notes, drafts, etc.
