Still not fully protected : rights to freedom of expression and information under Angola's new press law.
2006
The Angolan government's dismal record of protecting freedom of expression makes its new press law critical to ensuring that the media is able to report freely in the run-up to national elections expected in 2007. This report assesses the new law's compliance with international and regional human rights standards. The law, passed in May 2006, introduces much needed reforms in press freedom regulation in Angola, but still does not adequately protect freedom of expression. Cover title. 23 pages ; 28 cm.
