Was aus ihnen geworden ist : jüdische Familiengeschichten aus Rumänien 1855-1995
Memoirs of a Romanian Jewish woman, relating the fate of 24 members of her family during the Holocaust. The family lived in Cimpulung, Bukovina, from 1856. Ten family members perished in the Holocaust: four were murdered in Auschwitz, two were shot at a site near the river Bug, two were executed by the Russians, and two died in Transnistria. Bercovici-Korber was deported as a young girl in October 1941, with her parents, sister, and grandparents, to the ghetto of Dzhurin in Transnistria. Her grandparents did not survive; the rest of the family returned to Botosani, Romania, in 1944. Includes bibliographical references (pages 119-122). 124 pages : illustrations, map ; 21 cm
