Die Nacht am Øresund : ein jüdisches Schicksal
1994
Memoirs of a German Jew, born in 1926, who fled in 1933 with her family to Denmark. In August 1943 the German military commander declared a state of emergency, and the Danish government resigned. Hanne's teacher warned her that they had to flee immediately. Hanne managed to be included with her mother, brother, and sister in the rescue operation carried out on 8 October 1943, in which 7,000 Jewish refugees were removed to safety in Sweden. 1.
