Letters of a Jewish teacher, divorced from her Aryan husband, to her daughters at a boarding school in Switzerland. Describes the increasing restrictions on Jewish life in Berlin and worsening conditions at the Jewish school where she taught. The introduction states that she was dismissed in November 1941 because of cutbacks; she then worked in the Jewish community in the preparation of lists for deportation.
