Auf verlorenem Posten : die Frankfurter Zeitung im Dritten Reich
Documents the history of the newspaper "Frankfurter Zeitung" and its heroic attitude during the Third Reich. Its use of a type of code and ambiguous language to criticize the regime can be seen as a form of resistance. The "Frankfurter Zeitung" quoted protests from the foreign press against the boycott of Jewish businesses in 1933 and against the "Kristallnacht" pogrom in 1938, and discussed the Dreyfus Affair in order to express its opposition to the Nuremberg Laws. Some Jews remained on the editorial staff up to 1938. Includes indexes. 585 pages : illustrations ; 22 cm
