The Netherlands and Nazi genocide : papers of the 21st Annual Scholars' Conference
"The 21st Annual Scholars Conference on the Holocaust and the Churches, hosted by Stockton State College and held at the Marriott's Seaview Resort in Galloway Township, New Jersey on March 3–5, 1991... the working title of this year's Conference, and subsequently the title of this volume—became 'The Netherlands and Nazi Genocide.' This was, in itself, a variation in the traditional emphasis of this, America's oldest interfaith and international conference on the Holocaust and the Churches: its traditional emphasis had been on the German Kirchenkampf and the general failure of the churches to protect and work against Nazi antisemitism and the 'final solution,' in tandem with the Holocaust... this conference, attended this year by more than two hundred scholars from five countries (Canada, Germany, Israel, the Netherlands, and the USA), not only provided an in depth look at the Holocaust in the Netherlands but also focused on new work—including the first examination of the DP camps, and also recent research on Edith Stein." —Introduction, page i
