Marga Minco was a Jewish schoolgirl in the Holland of 1940, and this book tells how she watched the sky darken over her country. Alone of her family she escaped arrest and death in a concentration camp, yet, like the diary of Anne Frank, this book appears not so much as an accusation as a comfort.
