AD B 2 Bevrijding The German in their retreat from southwest Holland have broken Dutch dams and dykes so that the water floods vast stretches of country impeding the movement of troops and vehicles. To make matters worse, a fierce gale has been blowing for several days, driving the flood water to a great depth and making walking perilous and almost impossible. British vehicles have been ditched in feet of water by running off the roads hidden by the floods. Civilians making their way alongside ditched British vehicles in a flooded road.
