U.S. Secretary of State discusses post-war plans with American Congressmen. U.S. Secretary of State Cordell Hull (left) confers with a bi-partisan group of U.S. Congressmen on the American Government's invitation to Britain, China and Russia, proposing informal conversations on post-war international security. The conversations are intended to weigh tentative plans for an international organization designed to guarantee peace. In a statement on June 1, 1944, Secretary Hull emphasized that 'the principle of sovereign equality of all peace-loving-states, irrespective of size and strength, as partners in a future system of general security, will be the foundation stone upon which the future international organization will be constructed'.
