Symbols of Unity. Troops of the Unted Nations hold the flags of Great Britain, America and France high during a ceremony at which General Pierre Alphonse Juin, commander of the French forces of Italy, and General Brosset, General Juin's second in command, were decorated by General Sir Harold Alexander, Commander in Chief of the Allied armies in Italy, and Lieutenant Mark V. Clark, commanding General of the Allied Fifth Army. The ceremony took place after the liberation of Rome.
