Bremen was captured April 28, 1945. The Deshimag yards were the second largest in Germany and produced one submarine ervery two and a hald weeks. To minimize the effects of Allied bombs, the ships were built on eight sections in various parts of Germany and each section was brought to the yard, where 18,000 workers assembled them.
