Burial at sea. Merchant seamen and Marinee commit the body of an Allied Marine to the waves of the English Channel after Navy Chaplain G. Short read the burial service. The traditional salute of three volleys was fired by Marines and, in absence of blank fire, the LCI moved the side of the convoy to use live ammunition. The Marine was beachhead casualty in the Allied landing in France who died un transit back to the LCI from wich he was buried.
