U.S. troops begin journey home. Troops of the U.S. 87th Division line up along the shore at Le Havre, France, to board LCT's (landing craft, tanks) which will transfer them in the harbor to the U.S. West Point for shipment to the United States. Veterans of the war in Europe, these soldiers will be discharged from the service at home or re-deployed to the Pacific Theater of Operations after a month's furlough in America.
