U.S. insectide combats typhus. W.A. Davis of New York City, member of the Rockefeller Foundation, examines the head of a little Italian girl for lice as the U.S. Army combats typhus conditions in Naples. A new insectide developed in the U.S., DDT, kills typhus carrying insects. Trained personnel composed flying squadrons which bombed Naples during the outbreak of typhus in the city and investigated suspected cases. Special delousing stations were set up throughout the city and medical officers carried out citywide vaccinations.
