C 47 U.S. Army Air Forces exhibit opens in Paris. Looking down from the Eiffel Tower on the U.S. Army Air Forces Exposition, which opened in Paris to the general public August 1, 1945, drawing daily an eager crowd of approximately 75,000 people. Free movies are shown in the Butler portable hangar (seen in the center of this photo), the type which Air Force men constructed in from 36 hours to three days on the air strips of France and Germany during the war in Europe.
