Ninth U.S. Air Force men entertain invalid French children. Major R.S. Wooten, in charge of a rest camp for men of the 387th Bombardment Group near Berk-Plage in the Pas-de-Calais, department of France, gives candy to a young patient of the "Foundation France-Americaine", one of the five hospitals at Berck visited by U.S. airmen August 4, 1945. The young patient has just finished her ice cream which American airmen from the camp presented along with candy and chewing gum from their own rations to 1,500 young French invalids suffering from bone diseases.
