U.S. doctor treats French baby. A U.S. Army medical officer reassures a worried French mother as he examines her sick baby at an American medical center in Normandy. Allied civili affairs personnel went along with the first troops to land in France to aid civilians as soon as the Germans were driven from the Normandy towns. Following closely in the wake of advancing ground troops, these well-trained units provide food, water, medical care and supplies for the relief of the civilian population.
